PSHSA: Helping Create Safer Learning

Some of the most popular safety resources downloaded from OSIP.ca are those produced by PSHSA, the Public Services Health & Safety Association.

PSHSA, which provides support for student injury prevention initiatives across Ontario’s boards, is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Labour. In addition to working closely with the education sector, the Association serves broader public sector employers and workers, providing training, consulting, resources and ongoing research to reduce workplace risks and prevent occupational injuries and illnesses.

According to PSHSA, their commitment is to “creating safe work environments and promoting healthy workers” in sectors that include Health & Community Service, Government, Education & Culture, Municipal & Public Safety, New & Vulnerable Workers, and First Nations.

PSHSA offers a mix of free and paid resources and services. Links to some of the Association’s no-cost resources are available on OSIP.ca.

We recommend you contact PSHSA directly to explore the wide range of services they offer boards, including consulting and free training.

About This Online Resource

An area of need identified by board staff with responsibility for student injury prevention is the ability to share best practices and information, ask questions, and access links to provincial student injury prevention partners.

As part of SIPI Phase Three, this online interactive resource includes both public and members-only areas. The members-only area allows boards to share resources, ask questions, and connect with fellow colleagues as they further develop student injury prevention plans and resources.
